Setup guide

Before you start

• A Shopify store with an Online Store 2.0 theme (app blocks).
• Product metafields with the specs you want to show.

Setup

1. Install

   Install Spec Table by Gizmonger from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions.

   Your 7-day free trial starts on install.

2. Choose the specs

   Open the app in Shopify admin. It lists your product metafield definitions.

   Tick the ones the table should show, set a label, an optional section and unit, and move them up or down into order. Save.

3. Add the spec table to product pages

   Online Store → Themes → Customize → open the product template.

   Add block → Apps → Spec table. Place it where you want it and save.

   Block settings: Heading, Style (lines, zebra, cards), Maximum rows, Show rows with no value as –, Collapse long tables (over 12 rows, the first 10 show and the rest sit behind Show all).

4. Optional: comparison table

   Add block → Apps → Compare table on the product template.

   Products compared, in this order: the product’s spec_table.compare_with or custom.compare_with metafield (a list of products), else the block’s Products list, else the Fallback collection.

   Options: Show product images, Highlight differences, Style.

Uninstall and data deletion

When you uninstall, Shopify notifies the app and we delete the store’s session record. Shopify removes the app-data metafield and the app blocks stop rendering.
